Meeting your potential

Have you met your potential? It’s an honest and interesting question. To which I’ll answer for you, no. You can think of this in any context you want: spiritually, mentally, physically, at work, or in relationships. It’s not necessarily a global view, but something that is reflective of who you are. Can anyone honestly answer this question with a “yes?” There’s always a higher level to achieve, some benchmark yet to reach. Humans are fascinating in their ability to endlessly grow and surpass their previous boundaries.

It may seem like an impossible goal to accomplish, looking at it this way. Yet, in the face of such daunting odds, it becomes that much more incredible that we are able to set our goals and succeed. Our ability to reach new heights and obtain the finer fruit speaks volumes about our achievements. Look at yourself, are you where you want to be? Are you where you should be? You can always do better, and you should always strive to give it your best. When we look at self-improvement and achievements as a series of steps or rungs on a ladder, it becomes that much more feasible to us to improve, little by little until we become the best possible version of ourselves. Now, we may never know when that happens, but if we don’t try and put forth the effort, we’ll never know or come anywhere close to reaching that potential.
