Work harder and drink more water
I’ve kept this saying going strong over the years. One, drinking enough water to rival the ocean and two, if you’ve been following along with my blogs or know me at all, you’ll realize work ethic is one of the most important things to me. As a society, we are constantly dehydrated; everyone could stand to drink more water. It’s self-explanatory. The second part comes from the time I spent training for a marathon. Everyone loves a cliché, a really good one is “work smarter, not harder” but sometimes we really do just have to work harder. You’re training and training, what may give you the edge you need is simply working harder than the other guy. In order to get anything accomplished, you have to log the miles and put in the effort, sometimes it comes down to working harder than the others—in work or sport. If you’re putting in hours and hours of work, you have to have the water, the fuel so to speak, to get it done.
With pace and passion, getting yourself out of the door your whole day can change from bad to productive. It’s not easy, and it may not be pleasant, but it sets you apart from the rabble ambling senselessly along. The difference is simple, there are those who push and push and push, doing whatever it takes to succeed and grow their business or passions and those who let apathy consume them, unable to care about their work or ambitions. Most people never achieve that level of passion, everyone is different, but the folks willing to get out there and get it done are the ones who are going to be on top.
