The hardest thing about business
Someone asked me what the hardest part of being in business is. I thought for a moment. There are plenty of challenging things such as: customers, banks, the occasional coworker, but I would have to say for me is honestly getting up in the morning. Waking up, dusting off your shoes and shining your shoes, and heading out into the beat down of life, it becomes a whole different game—one that isn’t easy to win. You know the instant you sit up in bed that you’re preparing to leave the comfort of your own home and face the uncertainty and grueling tedium of whatever the day has to offer. When you’re doing the best you can out there, going into work with a smile on your face and shined shoes, you’re already a step ahead of most folks who are stumbling around in a fog of their own existential despair.
With pace and passion, getting yourself out of the door your whole day can change from bad to productive. It’s not easy, and it may not be pleasant, but it sets you apart from the rabble ambling senselessly along. The difference is simple, there are those who push and push and push, doing whatever it takes to succeed and grow their business or passions and those who let apathy consume them, unable to care about their work or ambitions. Most people never achieve that level of passion, everyone is different, but the folks willing to get out there and get it done are the ones who are going to be on top.
